For the first time in the series between the two teams, newbies will be able to attend this year’s Florida v Georgia game in Jacksonville. Previously, both Florida and Georgia understood that neither team would host recruits for the game. However, NCAA rules state that for this traditional neutral site game, only the home team can drop tickets for potential recruits, which is this year’s Bulldogs. This game gives novices a chance to get ticket prices settled, as previously recruited must buy their own way to see the two teams go head to head.
Florida head coach Billy Napier thinks that this upcoming game could be a measuring stick for how recruits can be guided for the future for this neutral site game. The chance to watch a competitive game at an NFL stadium should be an attractive selling point for newbies to come and check it out.
“I think the most important thing here is that maybe this year, maybe for the first time, he gets a ticket to the home team,” Napier said in a meeting with the media on Monday. Said. “You know, I think we agreed there. There is precedent for that. Maybe this match is a precedent for the neutral site to get tickets for both teams. Maybe that’s the case. The day and especially such games create recruitment opportunities. for the player this experience can have a significant impact on a player’s decision. I mean, I totally understand what Kirby is saying. He misses out every couple of years now he knows it’s going to be a great venue and Game Day experience. Being just down the road, really “There are some advantages and disadvantages here for both teams to some extent. But I think we’re going to keep pondering, not just the managers, but the managements. But I think the game was played in Jacksonville in 1933, so there’s a lot of history and tradition there.”
Neither Georgia nor many players on Florida’s roster saw this game live before their college years. Having recruits for both sides will make it an electric selling point for both teams. Guys like Florida defender Tyreak Handle they followed this game closely as a hope.
“Since high school,” Sapp said. “Because there are guys that I grew up in, went to high school, and played this game, and it’s always been an electric game. It’s going to be a hard game, it’s going to be a tough game, and the boys. will come out ready to fight. It’s going to be a fight.”
Florida’s recruiting class of 2023 currently ranks 9th on the 247Sports team recruiting rankings with 21 commitments. Regardless of which candidates participate in this game, the Crocodiles will continue to build their roster through recruitment. The staff rely on their legwork by evaluating these names that are on their way to assist the team in the future.
“I love the group we’re affiliated with,” says Napier. That’s why we worked very hard not only in the recruitment process, but also in the evaluation process. Far too good. There’s a lot of work left to do. It’s critical about seven, eight weeks of coaching, something like that. Therefore, I think that many of these studies have been done and will continue to be done. But this is part of our organization and we will continue to get better. I think there are many people here who are more familiar with the product we have. We become more efficient with our time. There are a lot of new people. And not just ’23’ but ’24’s, ’25’s. You have extensive work around the clock, at every stage of the year, right? So all these people are very proud of their roles and they’ve definitely been influential so far.”
Alligators and Bulldogs will premiere next Saturday at 3:30 PM ET on CBS.
